About the Spinner Dolphins:
The Spinner Dolphin (Stenella longirostris) is a small dolphin found in off-shore tropical waters around the Big island of hawaii. It is famous for its acrobatic displays in which they spin longitudinally along their axis as they leap through the air.

About our Dolphin trip Kona Hawaii:

We depart from the Honokohau Harbor on the dolphin adventure. Our boat captain take you to various Spinner Dolphin resting areas, in order to make their acquaintance! Sometimes the Hawaiian spinner dolphins will be spotted right after leaving the harbor and other times we may travel north or south along the Kona coast.
Your adventure to Kailua Kona, Hawaii, would not be complete if you missed out on enjoying the aquamarine life that abounds just off shore.

This was my first trip out with KOA for a dolphin swim and it was awesome! The boat is roomy and extremely comfortable and got us to our dolphin site in record time without the intense bumping of the smaller rubber inflatable boats I usually go out on.
We saw mantas, whales and swam with the wild dolphins and there were hundreds!! I wasn't rushed once I was in the water and the safety briefing was professional and brief! It was a fabulous day with Capt Danny and Laure, who exceeded my expectations as hosts with genuine Aloha and Hawaiian hospitality, yummy snacks, and an on board bathroom and fresh water shower to rinse off in between dives! Thank You Kona Ocean Adventures for my magical dolphin swim!!!

Humpback whale watching in Kailua-Kona, the Big Island, Hawaii

the Humpback whales are returning from their feeding grounds in Southeastern Alaska.K They come here not to escape the cold but to give birth to their young. When a calf is born, they have no blubber insulation to keep them warm in the cold waters of Alaska. Therefore, the annual migration of the humpback whales is the longest known migration of any mammal. They seek out breeding waters of approximately 75 degrees.
Our Whale watching trips are exciting from the moment we leave the Marina. We never know just where they will be. We always head for the Humpback Whale Marine Sanctuary which is just a 25-minute ride. Our fast boat is able to get to the whales quickly so you have more time observing them.
Every year between December and April, Humpback whales journey over 3,500 miles to Hawaii where they congregate to breed, calf and nurse their young.

Our Whale Watching Adventure offers you a rare opportunity to view and experience this phenomenon.
