“An amazing morning with Kona Ocean Adventures”

Had a fantastic morning yesterday with Sara and Rick. 4 of us took the dolphin and snorkel excursion and we all loved it. There were 8 of us on the boat plus Sara and Rick - plenty of space both at the bow and the stern and lots of shade from the canopy if you worry about the sun. Was not sure exactly how we were going to "swim with the dolphins" out in the ocean - but it turned out to be a once in a lifetime experience - at least for me. Rick was in constant contact with other dolphin boats and quickly brought us to a place where about 30 dolphins had been sighted. He strategically positioned the boat to place us in their swim path ( or his best guess anyway!) and then in we went. Sara joined us in the water and between Rick and Sara we received shouted instructions about whether to swim left or right, look into the water or along the surface. We stopped and jumped in 4 times and had dolphins swim and spin under, around and past us 3 of those 4 times ( they duped us the other time and got by us before we could get in). To be almost within touching distance of those beautiful animals within their natural habitat was indescribable. I can still close my eyes and see a pod of about 20 swimming below me in the crystal clear water including several moms with their young. Majestic is a word that comes to mind.

We then went to Kealakekua Bay for some fantastic reef snorkelling. Sara and Rick couldn't have been more helpful or informative.

The trip lasted about 4 hours and included a great little picnic lunch, juice, snacks and water.

We chose this company strictly on the reviews in TripAdvisor and we were not at all disappointed. We do not hesitate at all to recommend this company.

Amazing Manta experience with Josh, Matt and especially Joi the dislocated city girl! These people were fantastic, informative and a lot of fun to dive with. Me and my son did scuba and my wife and daughter did snorkeling. They took care of everything and made everyone feel safe and comfortable. Nice touch the hot chocolate at the end. If you want loud and obnoxious groups go with someone else- those groups were out there! I have been on the Big Island for 1 Year 7 months and had not yet had the opportunity to swim with dolphins. I finally pulled the trigger with Kona Ocean Adventures and they DID NOT disappoint! The boat Captain Tanner wasted no time in taking us directly to an area with at least 60 dolphins. Our snorkel guide Sara was very knowledgeable and was able to get us within arms length of the dolphins once we were in the water. We never felt rushed and had all the time in the world to enjoy the experience. They even had beverages, snacks, fresh fruit AND lunch ready for us! I highly recommend this company and will definitely return to them in the future.
